Fantasy baseball + 2998 = Hurry up
inothernews:

Derek just grounded out on his second at-bat; he stands at 2,998 hits — and there’s probably no fan more anxious for him to get that hit than the dude behind home plate, with the neck brace, wearing a fedora.

Michael Kacer lost his left arm in rocket attack in Afghanistan in 2008.

Achilles International, a nonprofit group helping the disabled get back to playing sports, got the 11-year veteran great seats to a recent Yankees/Rockies game.  Kacer took care of the rest.  That’s one hell of a play, sir.

And so you know, Kacer gave the ball to the kid next to him - his nephew - and the Yankee stadium crowd gave him a standing ovation.

Derek Jeter is 6 hits from 3000 and also on the DL.
This is what happens when you draft fantasy based on name recognition :(

So not only is he a five-time World Series champion… he was also on Star Trek: The Next Generation?  :-)
